The Cannibal Night

the eyes... the eyes reflect the light

caught in the hold of the cannibal night

the moon opens one eye

and sees the victim in her sight

nine of us will not go hungry tonight

the sight... on starboard deck arrives

storm so severe we might never survive

the gap opening wide

a roar is heard within the tide

one of the sailors goes over the side

to thrive... we’re digging for the sky

eight miners enter the diamond mine

a sea of rocks collide

a sound that cannot be described

one of the sailors goes over the side

the sphinx relates her cryptic dreams
