Snowflakes

the last scientific discovery...

let me footnote that by saying

i am by no means proclaiming an end to discovery

quite the opposite if you will...

rather... a transformation in what we know as science

an evolution of a scale...

no... even the word ‘scale’

with its implied references to weight and measurement

is entirely inappropriate...

an evolution so vast that the very connotations of the word ‘science’

the study of matter... of atoms...

the use of telescopes and microscopes...

in their essence are inherently misleading

a discovery is not a creation... but a change in perception

a new perspective on an amorphous situation

the changing circumstance of relative awareness

the contradiction of a still frame... a still life

with no account for rotation... or momentum

the lift of a veil to reveal... another dimension

only to witness things human beings might think about

but normally do not see

of which they are acutely aware... silently

things as infinite as the patterns of snowflakes

and as natural... familiar... like hot or cold

sensations that you feel... you remember

still they surprise you... as if unusual... but not unknown

complex... but understandable... intriguing... yet subtle

an interaction outside all notions of action and reaction

a communication... an exchange

like light replacing darkness

or darkness... light
