Footprints

we don’t run on gasoline

we don’t get off that easily

we can’t flip from screen to screen

and see what we might like to see

on the back of a tired animal

under the feet of our dreams

caress the skin

and she will give us everything we need

we could just drift up and slip away

maybe lift off to outer space

see you there

there is no defensive team

better trust the keepers of the peace

there are footprints in the stream

we are footsteps from eternity

with the tide turning a hurricane

as everything builds up

to wash away

there are footprints in the stream

we are footsteps from eternity

we don’t run on gasoline

we don’t get off that easily
