Ocean Tone

Branches

awoken... a silent word was spoken
passing shadows of the graveyard in the sun
when suddenly I saw myself in everyone
I could be sleeping
if I could release these visions
my certainty is eclipsed by the unknown
I know you're breathing
I know your heart is beating
and I can't escape the thought
of what's inside
in the corridors
where angels run away and hide

"you seem so fragile," she said...
"why do you tremble?
I can almost see the ashes in your skin...
I hear you speaking but your lips aren't moving
what is it you are implanting in my heart?
are we growing closer or ever further apart?"

one thing branches into another
and always lying under is what's been
somehow we're aware of things that we have never seen
